Sale VIC Ozstralia Mate !!!
Well all I have a new 07 650 FE and my mate has a new 07 550 FE. So far so good. Tony has done a few gentle hrs in the scrub running her in, he’s away for a week with work but will finish the job of when he gets home. Very solid rider spent Im pretty sure most of his life in the Gippsland area, and any of you who know the area, will appreciate the fantastic range of riding available to us. Me Im originally from the N.T., been here in Gippsland 6 or so years but haven’t had the many years of riding in this part of the world as Tony, so he spends a bit of time waiting for me harrrr harrr.

As these 2 bikes are brand new and both of us have taken the tank and seat off and have done the usual check of nuts, bolts and neatened, better positioned the wiring etc, is there any other recommendation’s you can suggest, in regards to setting up, and things to do to the bikes, to ensure they have a long and happy life.

We have both fitted the thermo fan as we do a fair bit of single lane stuff. So as above please through our way, some of your vast and varied experiences with the mighty Husaberg .

Both the bikes look great and the finish and presentation of the machines are very good, Im over to my mates place tonight for our usual family get together, he has my steering dampner, on my old KTM 520 witch use to belong to his dad, and he has bought back from me. It’s a GPR dampner { got it from his little brother, who is sponsored by them in the USA. I was working over there, to cut a long story short I did 2 GNCC and a 2 day qualifier for the ISDE 6 day for 2003. I could write for days about that little adventure}.
Thought I would mention the above to give my ego a stroke harr harr. Need it at my age.
Any way back to the bikes, we are looking to have many years of fun and enjoying the ups and downs of the little Berger Rockets.

Hi Vaughan,

Sounds like you two are on your way to Husaberg heaven!

Here's my advice on having a long lasting love affair with your Bergs.

Change the oil often, it's cheap insurance. I change mine after every ride. A ride being 60 to 80 miles with some good clutch work.

Keep the air cleaners clean. If you have never used the No Toil system I highly reccomend it. It makes cleaning air cleaners a snap, in the kitchen sink no less.

The shock spring will settle a bit after a few hours. The easy way is to set the static sag at 33mm and you should be good to go.

Keep an eye on the valve adjustment during the break in. Adjust after 3 hours then check again at 10. Once they're seated you'll easily go 30 hours between adjustments. Also, check the axial play on the rocker arms, sometimes the play here can be excessive from the factory. You can download the repair manual from the husaberg.se site and it gives the clearances for this.

Don't over tighten the breather hose clamps from the rocker box to the back bone. This rubber isn't very resilient and you can cut through it with the hose clamps if you overtighten them.

Bleed the fork tubes of excess air before each ride. Your hands will love you for it.

If you feel like puttering, pull the swing arm shaft and lube it with some anti sieze. You'll be glad you did this. Do the same with the Kick starter as well. There was a thread here a while back wherein someone had the kickstarter siezed onto the shaft and it took the shop several days to get it off.

Best of luck to you and your mate with the new bikes. There is a lot of info on this site, and some knowledgable people here to help you out with any questions.

Very Nice...

we'll see you at the force ride '08 then?

Have fun with the Bergs!

Azza.

Vaughan,

Depends on who you bought the bike off as to how well it has been PD. After my first few rides I took my bike back to Valley Force in Lilydale and they showed me what to look for. I have since been shown from these guys what they do on a PD so they might be worth a call. Valley Force also supplied the bike that Brandon Kienhuis did the Oz Safari on and the thing was fautless (8th outright 3rd in class).Otherwise happy riding.
