Does anyone have this tank? 8) And how much does it cost? I saw it in Owners Doc under aftermarket goodies. If it's a goody then why did they say "not much help and a hassle to fit"? I like the idea of increasing my capacity to around 3 gallons and it's hidden under the seat.

Pollo,

I'm pretty sure it's 2.8 liters.

Both Cheeseberger and Logjump have them, try shooting them a pm with any questions you might have.

Hi Pollo,

I bought one secondhand so I can't help you on the price issue, but 2,8 gallons is a bit optimistic, it's more around 1 gallon.
It's fairly easy to fit, you only need to move the electronic gizmo thing out of the way.

Good luck!

Yea right. I take that back. It's 2.8 liters. Stock tank is 9 liters so 11.8 works out to be around 3 gallons total I think. I gpt a part number for the auxiliary tank. The dealer can probably get them. I'm not planning on getting it yet Just getting an idea. Thanks for the info

Auxillary is a wast of time. Had one been there done that....

Buy a Boss Tank.

Almost 5 Gallons, I've seen em. And others too. And Yes I would if I were a marathon man. With the stock tank I get 80+ miles and thats fine with me now. Should get another 20 with the auxiliary. I also like the way my bike looks better than that big old honkin 4 - 5 gallon tank on it. But I guess if your a marathon man you don't mind having an ugly berg.

Ok, well the 4 gallon tank seems kind of ugly to me. .Each one has their preferences.

I have the under seat tank it works really well. It is a bit of a pain to fit but with the stock tank, you'll get 100 miles of range. I also have the BOSS tank and with both full, I have 5 gallons of fuel. The BOSS tank is slim for what it is, but lets face it, the stock setup is like having an 18 year old girlfriend between ur legs...

Check my gallery where I posted all of the photos from the installation I did. You'll have to move the ignition module and route a vent line from the under seat tank. There are some pics from a guy who cut the top off the cap and looped the vent hose around the air filter. DO NOT follow this guy's instruction set, it will not work properly.

I had one of these. Wish I still did. Most of the loops I ride are just outside of stock range. The only pain was the vent line filling with fuel. I had planned on putting a check valve on to combat this, but ended up selling the tank first.
