Gents (and ladies) - I'm new to the site, though candidly have lurked every now and then for about 2 years. I bought my Berg used in 2003 while awaiting the arrival of a new KTM 520 exc, expecting to probably sell it once the KTM arrived. I liked it a LOT on the trails of Hungry Valley. I also occasionally ride "veteran" motocross tracks. I realized that a big 4 stroke like the Husaberg or the KTM 520 would be too much work for an old geazer like me on even a modest track. So I cancelled the KTM order and bought a new '02 400 MXC from the dealer instead (they gave me a great deal!). I'm now 42 years old with a 14 month old son, and neither bike gets ridden much at all anymore. Added to that, my Tahoe toy hauler was recently damaged and is a "total loss" for insurance purposes, so I no longer have room... Before I put the Berg on Craigs list, I thought I'd give Husaberg fans a deal. Since I've had the bike I've probably put 25 hours or so on it. I had the bike serviced when I bought it which included fixing a weeping fork seal. Since then I've put a new battery in and had the oil changed. I keep it on a trickle charger now, and it runs great! I even considered converting it to supermoto for a while - until I realized I didn't need the road rash that comes with such conversions. There is a small tear about 1" long in the seat near the tank, and the plastic has the appropriate scratches, but it's a bike I'm not ashamed to own or ride. I'm sure if you're reading this you know the specs: electric start, faster than snot, etc. It has a current California Green Sticker. I will take any reasonable offer, and I'll donate 5% of the selling price to the site!

I suppose there's nobody in the LA area on this site that wants a great bike? I really don't have the room for two dirt bikes, a Harley and all the baby stuff, plus our two cars. I'll figure something out. If anyone is interested, send me an email.... Cheers!

Easy solution Bowbro....... ditch the stationary pump motor with wheels (HD) an now you got room for 2 more dirt bikes.... or just one more dirt bike an some more space (that was the object of the exercise).
Personally I would love an older Berg (I like a challange) but I cant get my trailer on the plane to come pick it up.

Nicely played Bergbro! I reckon I'd fit in pretty well in your neck of the woods! The Harley occupying valuable space in the garage is a relatively highly modified (mostly engine mods and handling improvements) Road King classic, certainly NOT the typical pump motor! To wit, I rode with a friend - a solid rider who jockeys a BMW k1300 - in the Malibu canyons about a month ago and he couldn't shake me. He was speechless... suppose my lifetime of dirtbike riding doesn't hurt me in the skills department on the street. I can't stomach the thought of a "divorce" with her, especially considering she's paid off and completely mine from fork to shock... Likewise, my KTM has flown through motocross courses that I shouldn't have even tried, without biting me. The Berg is a sentimental favorite, although it DID bite me on my first ride - made the mistake of trying to accelerate over/down a steep hardpack hill at Hungry Valley during my "test ride". More torque than I was accustomed to. The dude I bought it from couldn't believe I still wanted to buy the bike? As if more torque than you are used to is a bad thing?! It did take 4 weeks for the road rash on my forearm to heal, and ruined 3 work dress shirts from the oozing blood... I'm now thinking it's worth more to me than the couple grand it might be worth to someone else. Might keep it at a family vacation home. I just hate that it never gets ridden, and I know there's someone out there who could enjoy it more than I"ll be able to. Seriously, if you're in the area and you'll actually ride it - NOT sell it for a profit - PM me.
