1999 FS600E No Spark

So I recently picked up this 1999 FS600E with less than 2000 original miles on it. It had been sitting in a storage unit for the last several years and would not start. This bike is mint.
I cleaned the tank, replaced all the fuel lines as they were rotten, cleaned the carb and replaced all other fluids prior to trying to start it.
Pulled the spark plug and checked for spark but there was none.
Pulled the stator side cover off and the plastic around the stator was rotten and coming off in pieces.
I cleaned everything out and installed the new stator.
Still no spark.
I checked the fuses and all connections and everything seams to be good.
I currently have an aftermarket Ignition Coil CDI unit ordered and am waiting on that. Hopefully this is the answer.

Any thoughts or is there anything else that I might be missing?
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

i don't think there is an aftermarket coil that will work on a stock stator.
whaere did the stator come from?
what color was the stock coil?

yup - aftermarkjet CDi? mistake I think.

stick to SEM or the electrex stator. over thinking it. over complicating it.

I read on older bikes. You may not have a good ground/earth. So run a wire from coil to stator cleaning both connection points. Don't know if this will help you. But it may help someone else.

The replacement stator I got was from RMSTATOR part number RM01193 which says it is a SEM direct replacement. They can be found on Amazon. The coil / CDI unit I ordered from RegulatorRectifier.com. This one shows that it also is a replacement for the red OEM model SEM TM 14-05 101 890 00. I have not yet received it yet but am hoping this is the issue. If not after replacing that I will not know where else to go. I am also going to try the above mentioned checking all grounds and electrical connections again to ensure they are clean of debris.

yes but your trouble my old China, is that they stopped using the TM 14-05 101 890 00 coil in 1996 and your bike is a 1999.

the TM is red. yours should have been black.
the TM has 5 wires and you should have had either 7 or 8.

that is like mistaking a Chinese man for an African.

I ask myself what you are doing.....

mixing aftermarket stators and coils manufacturers on a berg usually results in disaster. most success stories come from replacing the stator with a rewind which several vendors offer.
it is very common for the sem stator to self destruct in it's original form. proper rewinds solve the problem and are usually cheaper than new. i've had 3 of them (sparks rewinds) and never had an issue with them.
sometimes it's confusing to i.d. a year model by paperwork, especially around '98-'99. '98 had a stator that was mounted under the flywheel on the engine cases, and came with the red tm style coil. it used a separate voltage regulator and rectifier (for the electric start models with battery), whereas '99 put the stator on the cover and inverted the flywheel and changed the red style coil for a black one . then it really gets confusing between an estart vs a kickstart only. electrics don't interchange. personal experience will say that trying a red coil on a 99-'00 stator might result in a damaged kicking foot
you didn't say what color was your coil, and did you have an innie or an outie stator.

Wow!! Thank you guys for that info. Thank you Taffy for making me go back and look the bike over again. So, the registration for the bike says it is a '99 FE600s. ??? The front of the frame on it says it was manufactured 12/'97 and the sticker under the tank on the frame says it is a '98. What the heck man. The plastics say FS.
So based in all that info I am going to go with it is actually a '98. The CDI / Coil box is the red one marked TM 14-05 101 890 00 and has a black, green, orange and red wire out of it.
I guess I did order the wrong year Stator as the '98 and '99 are different. The old one was junk as the plastic casing around it had disintegrate and the wires were corroded so I tossed it. I guess that is something I should not have done. I will order the one for a '98 and hopefully that will resolve the issue. Thanks again guys and sorry if I'm such a rook but have never worked on a Husaberg before.

Ned, you are absolutely correct. Papers did me no good on this one. You guys seem to be pretty knowledgeable about these bikes and I appreciate the help and info. This one that I have is an electric start in addition to kick start model.
Thanks again.

FS600e no fuel.

Ok, well now that I have spark after installation of those new CDI and Stator I am noticing that I am not getting any fuel into the cylinder. Not sure if the intake valve is stuck closed but aside from that can anyone suggest why? I took the carb out and cleaned it thoroughly. Replaced the fuel lines.
Nothing. There is a fuel line that goes just behind the head and one that goes to the carb. Not sure about the one that goes into the head other than this might be where it receives pressure or suction?

The vacuum port on the cylinder head goes to the fuel pump on the underside of the fuel tank.

that's assuming you have an enduro tank with the long right side. if you have the fc style with two petcocks, just cap the vac port

So I want to that you all for the comments and recommendations. Today it fired right up and idols fine when sitting but when giving it throttle or when riding it down the street it really surges and/or idols rough. Any thoughts???
Thanks.

adjust the fuel screw on the left side of the carb. this should help. they recommend 1.5 turns out but it may want 0.5 turns either way.

Taffy

Thanks Taffy. I will make that adjustment.

What about the anodized red springs knob on top of the carb?? What is that and is there a stock adjustment for that one?

Thanks again for all the help.

Red anodized knob on top of the carb...is that the Edelbrock quicksilver? I think I read somewhere that carb came standard on some FS models. If it is the Quicksilver, they are notorious for the float valve getting stuck shut. I bought one for an XR650R that I desert raced but ended up with the float valve issue. I also tried it on my '96 FC600 with good results...until the float valve stuck shut. I eventually tossed it and adapted a Keihin FCR41 from a 2009 KTM 450SXF. Never looked back.

there's no red button on a dell orto carb. so you need to cvheck that you have a dell orto, a Keihin FCR, a mikuni or I guess, an Edelbrock?

check it out!

i know nothing of this carb and I believe that there is little information here on it. keep searching I guess!
