does the chain guide swing back and forth??

The chain guide on my bike doesn`t do that. Check the mounting points on the swingarm, sounds like you have a bolt missing and one very loose.You can see the bolts by looking from left to right toward the inside of your swingarm. There should be 2 bolts there. Hope this helps.eman369 said:
The chain guide on my '98 is held on by a single M8 bolt, yours is probably the same. If the bolt is loose it can swing like you say. The bit the bolt goes thru is a rubber vibration mount so, even when the bolt is tightened, the guide can still spring back & forth on the rubber.
