In the 98 parts catalog it give's 2 part numbers for the 600 intake manifold
#25018901 which supersedes to 25024401
the other is # 25015801 which one would be the proper one? both are in stock

i'd guess that both are pretty similar, but apparently the 158 is for the 97 and early 98 (to dec). the 189/244 is for 12/97 on up.
just go by the mfr date.
can't say what the diff is, my 98 600 never needed one.

Perhaps the difference is between a flat slide and round slide carb. My 97 600 has a round slide as does my 98 parts bike so..................does anyone have a 98 or even a 99 with a flat slide? Perhaps they went to a flat side on late 98's on up to ?

on my 98 400e i had a round slide, on my 98 400 kick i had a flat slide, and they only list one boot for the 400 so i don't think that matters.
