My 1997 fe400 has a KTM speedometer on it. Is this the correct speedometer? If not, does anyone have the correct part number or maybe even one I could buy even used with hopefully over 8000 miles on it ( I'd like to match somewhere close to the current miles if possible). 209 931-4151 if you want to call

I was told once the bikes back then in the US came with a ktm trip meter. overseas bikes actually had a speedometer but not sure what they looked like. Posting a picture of your speedo may be helpful also.....that may be the original maybe it isn't.....I wasn't the original owner of my bike but was told it came with a ktm trip meter originally and the guy I bought it from had a ktm trip meter in thebox of stuff he gave me when I bought it....

Thanks for your reply --- I think you're right that it's probably original. I just ordered a new cable and I hope that fixes it. I'm in Northern CA and just bought the bike. It came from NV and I'm going through CA DMV to get it street legal and what a nightmare. The bike looks like new and was well cared for.
