I have a 1996 400 Husaberg front Wheel. Will the 501 front wheel from a 1999 Husaberg be a direct swap? They look the same. A little help before I pay for long distance shipping.

thank you....sl

My search so far

Long search on Google...so far...and sites like rockymtn, and bikebandit, they cut off parts for models in the 90's...parts only start like around 2004 for Husaberg.

Nope, 1996 350 / 400 Husa, won't swap with the 1999 501. 15mm axle vs. 17mm axle. Several Moto Mechanics and bearing shops later, dedicated standard bearing sizes, won't mix, match, or adapt. Ouch. Had to send a Ebay wheel back for 50 bucks worth of postage.

the 15 vs 17 axle does have a solution. I am going through it myself with the WP upside down (15mm) and a standard WP (17mm)
1) Using a 17 mm bearing wheel to a 15 mm axle, you need to make a 1mm wall thick spacer (ID=15, OD=17) to slip inside the wheel.
2) you need to make one new distance spacer for the left side and may have to shave the axle right side bearing stop step to to account for the different wheel width and fork spacing.
There are other issues to deal with but as long as the wheel is narrower the solutions are easier. Any motorcycle machine shop can help you with this. Typical moto shops cannot (unless they have a lathe and the person to run it).

I can’t believe I found this thread. I have a front 15mm axle rim that needs spokes. I went down the exact path of this thread, right down to sending a 17mm wheel back on eBay! I would like to straighten the rim I have vs getting parts machined and also buying another rim. Any leads would be appreciated. I also just found this forum and will do more searching
