The petcock on my bike was leaking, I couldn't locate a gasket set so I ordered a new part.

When I removed the old petcock I noticed someone had hogged out one of the ports inside the petcock, it is about 2.5 times the diameter as the new part I purchased.
Did these have an issue with starving the carb of fuel? Do I need to do this to the new part?

Thanks, Tad

I think that might have be part of the reason the petcock was leaking. I think they were trying to compensate for something like maybe a reserve or get more fuel to the carb instead of jetting. I would not change anything on the petcock you are getting. That would be what I would do.
Hope this helps
