1996 501 Camshaft Advice Please

I have a 1996 501 motor (96-240 scribed on head and valve cover), into which I want to fit an Auto de-compression Camshaft.

I have a brand new Auto de-comp cam that I purchased with a bunch of new parts for a 1996 FE 350 motor, which is labelled (hand scribed/engraved with a motor tool) FCS M/C 73 1105.

Does anyone recognise this serial number/part number and can you offer any advice as to whether it is appropriate for the 501 motor.

Thank you for your help.

Cheers, Tony P.

why? imho its easier to kickstart these bikes without the autodecomp. just using the handlebar decomp works best for me. the best use for the cam operated decomp is for estart which i am guessing you don't have.
