Hey every one i just traded some work for a 1995 Husaberg 600 fe. Its in pretty good shape except that it broke a timeing chain. So i pulled the valve covers and noticed that one of the jam nuts was missing and anouther loose. I found the nut was under the cam pulled the rocker box off found the damage to the cam wasnt to bad after about 45 min of polishing. But i am haveing a hard time finding any parts I called the dealer twice once with part numbers once with out. They where spouse to call back but never did

I need a timeing chain and master link ,clutch cover gasket , and the clip that holds the decomressor into the rocker box but i maybe able to use a e ring for that. and after i get it running and see how it runs. Id like to know if the intake boot, and the boot from the carb to the frame are avalible, and also the starter gear

please email me using the 'contact us' from my web site in the foot of my message.

Opps I'm sorry about that. So is this a decent bike? I got it for about 5 to 8 hours worth of friend work. Is there any tips or mods or anything i need to do to it or just get it together and see how it runs

Well i haavent ridden a dirt bike scince i was about 10 years old. And it was only a yamaha 80. But i have been rideing motor cycles on the road for the last 8 years. Im mostly scared of kick starting the thing. Ive heard horror storys of bikes kicking back. Also seen what a yamaha mx 360 did to my dads boot.Would it be better to bump start it till i get more use to kick starting it

When do you get used to kickstart it if you bump start it? ;- )
Don`t touch the throttle when you are starting it by the kick and always have motocross boots on!

it will kick easy if its tuned good, wont even need a hil :) . get to top dead center where you feel the compression, pull in lever and get past tdc (you will learn the sweet spot on how far past) let up the kicker and kick it. usually a few slow kicks through going past tdc twice or so, find the sweet spot turn off choke, nice full kick from the top. it wont start it if your scared of it either, the closer you are to the sweet spot the easier it will be to kick, it should only kick back if you are way off on your starting point of your kick or has an issue like timing off or something, if the engine is warm already it might be easier to learn to kickstart though....actually the only time i ever had a kickback is when the flywheel nut came loose and cut the woodruff key in half and stalled and it was when trying to restart it....10 kicks and 2nd kickback i started walking home, with a limp of course :bounce3: i have e-start with auto decompressor not a secondary decomressor lever though. still same procedure but maybe thats why it doesnt kick back? either way if your scared it wont kick start, thats a rule of the universe you know.....

i think 5-8 hours of freind labor would be a good price for it, hopfully you can get some parts cheap enough to get it going and havr a nice bike, the main downside considered by most to the pre 1997 would be the lack of an oil pump, but still loved by many, and you wont have trouble burrying the guy on the yamaha 80 with roost

This engine has electric start but the gear is missing. It also has a oil pump is it not the same as the post 1997 engines. its driven off the smaller gear on the clutch basket the same as the kick start idler gear. It also has the the cable from the kick starter to the de compression valve the handle bar to the valve and also the actuator on the cam its self
