1990 Husaberg 501 parts?

Hey new to the forum and was wondering how accessible parts were for a 1990 Husaberg 501 were? The bike is in really good shape but I'd rather know whats out there fort it before I hit the trails with her. Thanks!

hey i saw that on craigslist too.

you should restore that and put it on display

Yea I just got it as part of a package deal with a 89 xr600r. Not too sure if restoring it is what I'd like to do. Is it really that rare? I can't find any information on it online!
 
it's a very early one and it looks like it's in very good shape. how does it run?
how easy does it start?
 
It runs pretty smooth. Rides a lot better than my xr600. It takes a few kicks but she fires up. Probably took a good 7-8 kicks yesterday when I fired her up

check out the frame number that will give you a clou how old it is.
It starts FE 501 000000???

But if i check out the picture it is an very early one just like mine:D

I got a 1991 fc501 Malcolm Smith Edition as part of a trade.

I rebuilt the motor and had to find some parts for its chassis.

Some places will tell you a part is no longer available. Then call some place else and they have it or have the generic part that replaces the piece. You have to have patience when looking for older Berg parts.

I look at the older Bergs as a bike you ride sometimes and don't abuse. The bike will also stir peoples interest at the local riding area into what you are riding, which is fun. I would ride it or sell it to someone that will.

I've rode it around a little bit, no trails but it rides and runs really well. It came with another bike (which is what I wanted) so I do plan on selling it. Not sure how to deal with shipping something like this but it's definitely for sale.
 
L made it a 1990. we have a brand new seat cover for this on ebay 263057968139

glad some one has an original bike to view!

I would be interested in it, too. I like my '90 so much I'd buy another.

And I agree with BigBerg on not abusing it. I baby all my equipment, but especially the Berg. I ride it once or twice a week, and can't remember the last time I had the throttle more than half open - partially by choice but also because it is never necessary with this monster. And it still gets a lot of questions from my fellow riders who were convinced there were only four motorcycle manufacturers in the world.

If it were me, I'd hang on to it, but if you let it go, I certainly hope it goes to a fellow enthusiast!
