17" wheel circumfrence?

hey guys, my speedo is off (reading high), im sure its programmed for a 21"wheel (pretty sure i recall seeing 2205 for WS)
anyone know off hand the measurement in mm for the 17" wheels that come on the FS650e's?

kinda suck to have you speedo read, im guessing, 20km/h over what your doing (i do about "70" in a 50 zone i think)

With the bike upright, measure (in millimetres) from the ground to the very top of the front tyre. Multiplying this by 3.142 gives you the circumference. This should work for any size wheel or tyre and take into account any wear.

If yopu can only measure inches, multiply inches by 25.4 to get millimetres. (Then multiply this by 3.142 to get circumference in mm.)

Hi Shorty,

My 04 550 started life as an enduro but I have put it on the road with 17" wheels, I calibrated my WS setting to 1790.
Followed the wife in the car and it's pretty close.

flipping through the owners manual, i cant find out how to change the wheel size? anyone care to enlighten me?

Legally you can't, you either buy a speedo for 17" or 21" wheels they do this to cover them selves.
But here you are, you need to disconnect your main battery but have the small button battery in the speedo housing, then locate the three pin triangular plug from the speedo, disconnect the black wire only, now when you go through the menu for set up and you get to the WS you will notice now it is flashing you can now alter the WS via the three button touch pad.
Once you are satisfied with the numbers reconnect the black wire and the main battery, it's as simple as that, but I must admit this is how I was told, would of never of found it other wise.

wow, illegal? jeeze. i guess you could make it so it registered minimal mileage and then sell it, eh?
