'14 TE300 piston selection

Hi all,

I am new to the forum and officially 7 months into owning my first non-Jap bike. Anyway, I have a '14 300 and I am at 158 operating hours and starting to lose compression (down to 120) after a long ride yesterday. I am looking for advice on piston selection for this bike. I have used Wiseco's in the past in my YZ250. Not sure if it is best to go OEM for these bikes or if it really matters. The OEM top end has lasted so much longer than what I am used to from past bikes. I ride technical woods and desert and race a few hare n hounds and desert scrambles annually.

Wiseco is an excellent product but like any piston. It is only as good as the machining done. I have had great success with Wiseco in the years past, but now only run OEM engine parts as I know they always fit correctly the first time around. Oh and PS: The 300 is a great machine, I have nothing but kind things to say about this. MY 300 ktm never let me down just got sick of the smoke lol. FE350 now for the closest thing to the 300smoker :)

Thanks for the advice. I am going to go OEM for this one. I actually missed the smoke and went back and will probably go back and forth as long as my wife will tolerate it:p. So far having a lot of fun on the 300.
