130 or 140 Dual Sport Tire for 18" wheel?

I'm getting a second set of wheels for street and gravel riding and looking for the widest tire that will fit my rear wheel. All I'm finding are 120's. I'd like the widest dual sport tire I can find, but doesn't seem to be anything out there - anyone else solved this problem?

If you are going with a Dunlop 606, a 130 is too wide. It'll hit the chain frequently. I trimmed the knobs down on the chain side. Next one will be a 120.

I run both 130/80 and 140/80 on my 650. Perhaps the post '09 have slightly narrower swingarms?

Anyway, there are lots of choices... Dunlop 606 and MT21 in 130... dirt focused. Kenda 761 in 130/80...street biased. IRC GP110 in 5.1 (approx 140/80) ... 50/50 focus. Lots of others also.

140/80 was the stock tyre supplied with my brand new 2012 570 and is nowhere near hitting the chain.

Maybe you mean a 130/100 or 140/100?

I've found that a Dunlop 606 130 is wider than the stock 140-whatever it was and the chain hits it (not always but when riding/bouncing). The chain was actually wearing into the knobs. And it rubs the muffler just slightly on occaison. A 130 works but I believe a 120 is a better fit. I don't run a chain guard so that doesn't help either.

Also, the local Husaberg shop installs 120s when a Dunlop 606 is requested. YMMV.

I rode the entire Baja peninsula with a Dunlop 606 130 on my "09" 570, never hit the chain. Best tire I've ever run. It's all I'm going to run now.

Hey, I rode mine to Cabo this January as well. 1300 miles give or take. What a great trip. Anyway, I ran a Dunlop 606 130 the whole way -- no problems. I had a complete chain guard at the time -- maybe I should get another one to help contain the chain a bit. I don't like it when the knobs are beating on it. My buddy ran a 120 606 on his 570 on the same ride and it just had a little more clearance and looked like the right size to me. Yes, yes, a 130 works but I'll be getting a 120 next time.

My dealer said the Kenda 761 doesn't come in a 130/18 - and looking online, it seems he's right - motorcycle superstore says it comes in 130, but out of stock.

So now I'm thinking a Shinko 700 130. I'd like to keep the price down, get something that works well on the road and it's got good reviews. Anyone run one of these?
