I'm 'm due for new chain and sprockets on my 09 FE450 with Rekluse.

My bike was pre delivered with 14 /52 which seamed ok, but since doing a little research I understand this should have been 13 /52.

I ordered 13/ 52 sprockets, and my local shop tells me 52's are currently out of stock and delivered 13 /51

1.. Would this gearing,(13 /51) have me in second gear for narly hill climbs, which is what I'm after ?

2.. Should I wait for a 52 or will the 51 be as good or better for my application ?

I dont need top end speed and ride more tech single trail.

Can anyone give me feedback on this setup .

Thanks in advance for any info... Cheers Sav

If you're running a Rekluse you'll hardly even notice one tooth on the rear sprocket. I have a Rekluse Pro and have 13/50 and 13/52 gear and it's just barely noticeable.

I have a 2010 FE 570 And run 12/52 and love it at that.
Might be worth trying, that will get you in 2nd gear on the tight stuff. :)

Wow, you guys certainly like low gearing for your big bore bikes! I'm still using, and love, the stock 14/48 gearing on my auto clutch equipped '04 KTM 525(540) EXC. Even though 1st and 2nd gears are a little higher (taller) on the older EXC's than on the newer KTM/Berg's, 1st and 2nd are still plenty low enough for the most technical terrain while the remaining gears are perfect for higher (and even sustained) 'desert speeds'.
