12v pickup for phone charger on fe450

Hi all. I got a small bike phone charger kit off amazon and have mounted it behind the light on the front of the bike. I didn't want to connect to permanent live incase it drained the battery.

I've checked with my meter for any ignition 12v but can't find anything. Does anyone have a suggestion?

i hooked grip heaters to the headlight low beam so when I shut off the it's off. have never had problem.
