Does anybody have some feedback on a 120/100-18 Maxxis desert IT? I currently have a 110/100 but was considering the bigger tire for my 2006 FE450E. I mostly do single track in Arizona.

thanks

i ran it years ago and was happy with it. after all, we live in the desert. rocks? we got rocks!

I had one in that exact size on my bike.

It's a pretty good tire most everywhere.

Works well at low pressures as its a fairly stout tire.

I kept it at 16-18 psi for most dual sport rides.

It's a fair bit taller, and definitely wider than other 120 series tires.

You will probably like it as it will make your bike more responsive.

As a bonus, it sticks surprisingly well on tarmac for a knobbie if you're into that kind of thing.

I was told by an old school Berg guy that trials tires were the king. He sweares by them .
Anyone else ?
Dude says they grip like crazy & last also, not sure if DOT though.

He's likely referring to the rear MT43 which is a great DOT "trials type" tire IMO.

Ups-They are great on smaller bikes especially on tight trails, and wear well.

Downs- Not a great desert tire, soft side walls, spin if ridden aggressively on big bores especially in sand or loose terrain.

Ran this setup on my KTM 500 for years. Never saw pavement, and a great Tire fro Western CO, Eastern Utah. Mountain and Desert riding.
