It's been ridiculously hot out here, it hasn't rained in eight months, and our club riding area (12,000+ acres) has mostly burned due to wildfires. We usually head to the New Mexico mountains to get in some great summer rides, but they are either on fire or about to catch fire any minute and are closed to all access.

Nothing else to do except take my bike apart and pass the time ordering stuff it probably doesn't need that costs a bunch. Oh well, it's the next best thing to riding.

I got a set of ridiculously expensive silicon CV4 coolant hoses that look cool because they are blue. I installed the SXS kit for the CC forks that upgrades everything with low friction bushings and seals. This was one thing that was WELL worth the money. The new seals have zero stiction and forks move through the travel like butter. Then I sent my exhaust off to get ceramic coated, which is supposed to reduce the radiated heat 35 percent. It sure looks better than the pipe wrap, I guess we'll see if it works like they say.

Hopefully it will rain, cool off a bit, and my group can get back to riding, Here's a picture of my new ceramic-coated exhaust.

wow, hopefully the fires get dounced soon. That would seriously bum me out. The pipe looks nice, how much did the coating run??

Hopefully some rain makes it your way from the tropical storm about to hit!

Pipes look awesome!

I'm not riding because my 'berg is in the shop for the hot bike/no restart issue. Waiting for a fuel pump from KTM...

Thanks. It was 110 bucks, and they did an excellent job. I just pulled it off and sent it--baked on mud and everything. I used Jet Hot Coatings out of Oklahoma City--turn around time was 8 days total. They have different ceramic coatings but the told me the silver was the best for heat insulation, so that's what I did.

I'll report back when I get a chance to ride it. I've got my whole bike torn apart out of pure boredom. :D
