The bike backfires steadily and heats up quickly. Header pipe orange after 20 seconds.

Lean mix?

- Check TPS settings
- Remove or change inline 10 micron filter
- Clean injector

You can find info about it all in this forum.

Thanks. I did both filters and cleaned injector. Will try tps. Problem started with stalling and slowly got worse. First thought was filter and injector.
Could it be a timing issue.
How hard is it to check timing.

Who knows, maybe? But the probability of that is so much lower than the TPS sensor knocked out of position (quite easy). Ignition timing is set in the ECU, the sensor shouldn't move that easy, and can wrong timing heat up the header like that?
No answers from me, just words.... But check TPS first and if that wasn't the problem hopefully more cunning people can help you find the problem :)

If you get a flower spray can and fill it with fuel you can spray down the intake and see if it stops glowing as quickly, if it changes its likely fuel related. Just a thought.
