Okay, this is going to seem a little silly, but I’m trying to decide rather I should by a ’10 FE 570 or a ’09-’10 KTM 300 XCW.

I currently have an XR650R and was going to sell it for a FE570. However, I’d like to try some Enduro’s and I’m not sure how much fun I would have on a 570 being I have never done an Enduro before. I don’t care about winning…I’d just want to have fun. I don’t think I would have much fun on the XR it’s a lot of bike and no e button.

Of course the 300 would be a nice bike to have for Enduro’s and really tight trail riding. So, should I keep the XR and get a 300 XCW or sell the XR and get an FE 570 or maybe even a 450 and use it for the Colorado trails and the endures. I’m not sure how I’m going to like the 2 stoke, but people love those bikes and KTM sells the heck out of them. It would feel so light coming off an XR650R…but I’m thinking the 570 might feel pretty light also.

Would like a bike I could partially Dual Sport also. So anyone out there DS a FE450 would like to hear if you wished you would have got the 570.

Anyone riding Enduro's on a 570 who wish they would have got a FE450 or maybe a 300 xcw?

I know this is a little crazy because the bikes are so different.

Anyone with experience on both bikes?

I have, and I would buy the 570.

There is no comparison to be made against your old trusty XR. The FE is what, 60 or 70 pounds lighter than your XR.

The FE is very agile, no oil to mix, no jetting to worry about, the FE runs the same all the time, no matter where you're at. The 300 has a good motor, but, just doesn't have the torque and wide power band that the FE does.

SAC racing makes complete Dual sport wiring kits for the FE's as well. However the 2010's come with lights on both ends so finishing off the DS thing is pretty simple. And the 2011 FE 570's are going to be street legal, so what more do you want? LOL!

Thanks Dale.

And I've been checking out your aux tank also. I did some calculations and I could go further it on the 570 than I can on my XR with the big Clarke tank. (Got to love the FI.)

I'll be ordering one for sure if I end up with the FE570.

Thanks again for your time and feedback.
