Like many, if not most of us, my "black" fuel pump failed. It died after 65 hours or so. Replaced it with a CA Cycleworks pump and all was good.
Was riding a couple weeks ago, and the bike lost power like it was running out of gas (it was not) then it came on again. The ride was on a hot day, and I had my fan running nearly full time. My bike always started, but it turned a little slow and I figured the battery was probably a bit weak. Replaced it with a Li battery, rode 80 miles yesterday in gnarly terrain, the bike was flawless. Seems that when the battery gets marginal, it can cause problems. It is not just an "if it starts it is good" deal.
The Li battery was not much more than an AGM one, and I could feel the weight difference while zig zagging through the trees. The bike felt like it does when it has a half tank of gas, and it was full. Later in the ride, with a lower gas level, I was too tired to notice
