Downunder !
Hi everyone, I have not been on for a long time due to house reno's and no computer at home.
Last time on here I was on the verge of buying an new 09 FE570, but due to lack of dealers within 800 kilometres I opted to go for the 2009 KTM 530 EXC-R .

I love my orange beast, but last weekend I discovered that a dealer 1 hours drive from me where my inlaws live has now taken up the Berg dealership for our state (Great news !!).

He had a new 570 as a dealer demo bike which he kindly lent to myself and 2 mates for half a day (***** !! LOL). WOW !!! Does the Berg really rock !!

I love it, so much so that I went home and detailed my KTM and stuck an ad in this weeks local paper to sell her. I want a Berg badly.

Not having access to a computer at home and restricted to limited time at the local library for the next 9 months I don't have the time to cruise through all the posts and see what has been happening with the bikes in my abcence. I am hoping that members can quickly post here any issues they have had with their 570's and how they dealt with them.

Thanks in advance, as it may be weeks before I can get back here and check any response's. I am just hoping for a quick sale on my KTM , as the deal they are offering on the berg is really good. Basically the same price as I could have bought on for 6 months ago, but now they throw in the following: Acrapovic pipe, bash plate, handguards, mapping switch, new grafics, low fuel light and all on road costs. WHOOPEE !!

Short and simple,

I have 70 hours on my bike and no problems. Valves still in spec after 70 hours.

The only issue was with the cam chain tensioner, which is the same one on that KTM you bought. There were a few posts on it and they seem to have died away. For 2010 there is an updated tensioner.

Other than that, nothing but happy folks riding their 570's and building them to suit. Only thing I would suggest, not know your ability or weight, is to have the suspension set up for you before you ride it. Then there will be nothing to do but ride your new steed. The stock set up is okay if you don't weigh over 200 pounds and don't try and go too fast. I broke my bike in with the stock set up, then had it set up.

Seems to me that you have a guy down under who is very good with the PDS system. He has held several workshops if memory serves.

You will be pleased with your new bike!

RE: 1 Year on, any problems with FE570

the only one that concerns me is somethiing about headgaskets lifting during the long hard WOT runs in the aust safari though nobody ever said much about that one.

i've had some electrical problems with my 2010 FS 570

the electricstarter didn't work, i've turned it in with a dealer and he told me that he's had
4fs 570's and 2 of them had the same problem as me

it's probably a spring form my decompression that is broke

i'll let you know if it turns out to be something els
