Hi guys. This is my first post here. I’ll be picking up my ’09 FE570 within the next 2 weeks, and I need to setup the bike to be street legal. I would like to avoid buying the OEM Husaberg light kit, since I feel I can do better with my own parts: Trail Tech X2 halogen headlight, LED tail/brake light, LED flush mount rear turn signals, and stalk mount front signals. However, I would like to utilize as much of the factory wiring harness as possible, for a clean install. I did a lot of reading and searching here, but I still have a bunch of questions.
1. Multi-function switch: Has anyone used a switch that controls the headlight (hi/low/off), turn signals, and horn? Will a switch like this off a KTM ’08 450/530exc plug into the OEM Husaberg harness? All I see discussed here is the Husaberg OEM switch (part number 50311070000) that only controls the headlight and kill switch.
2. Turn Signals: What additional wiring harness parts do I need to add turn signals? From the parts diagram http://www.husaberg.com/fileadmin/user_ ... _EU_EN.pdf on page 25, I see harness numbers 4 and 5 are part of the circuit. Are these already on the stock US bike, or do need to purchase them? Harness number 4 has five plugs on the front. I assume the 2 smallest ones are for the front signals. The one closest to the front number plate might be the power supply to the circuit. I guess the other 2 plugs are for the switch and for the flasher. Is this correct? Also, do I need to purchase the OEM flasher, or is it already on the stock bike?
3. Horn: where is the plug that the horn connects to, and where is the plug that goes to the horn switch/button?
4. Rear brake light switch: is this all I need for the rear brake light switch? http://www.bobscycle.com/browse.cfm/4,1 ... AFF=690FGL
5. Headlight: I plan to use the OEM headlight wiring harness (part number 54811001050), and soldering the connections directly to the Trail Tech X2 headlight for high and low beam. On page 31 of the parts diagram, I see the harness has 4 plugs on the front side. What are all these plugs for? BTW, I’m aware that I shouldn’t run both beams simultaneously since it will draw more than the 10 amps the circuit is rated for.
6. Connectors: does anyone know what specific connectors I will need to plug my own tail/brake light and turn signals into the factory wiring harness?
