09 FE450 Test, 12/29/2008

what an excellent write - up! that seems to be the best so far. he loved the bike and then wrote down what seemed to be wrong IHHO. i think the hook up on the rear will come down to the spring and damper settings, the gearing will need to be 13/50 or taller (he gets confused i think), the MPG is way down on what a well carburated current generation will get set up properly.

the usual Fi problem of poor fuel conumption even though everyone swore blind that it wasn't possible!

the funiest thing of all was the comments by joe pubic underneath. the very first one had me shaking my head with both laughter and bewilderment. i'll say no more!

Hillclimbing prowess can be seriously enhanced or comprimised by adj the high speed compression on the rear shock. A soft setting that works very well for roots and square edged bumps, really SUCKS for hillclimbing.....the tire won't hook and it will spin. By turning in the hex, you get more traction...perhaps a bit more wheely, but body positioning should correct that. I doubled my hillclimb distance on a hill with my 550 by turning the screw in 1.5 turns...zero to hero real quick :).
