I got 65h on the bike and recently clutch started slipping on high gears 5-6 and occasionaly setting off. I got bike since 50h so dont know how it was ridden but still seems very early for a worn clutch.

I took it apart and all lining discs seem OK, but I dont know what the tolrance should be anyway.
What is a wear limit for the clutch plates? individually or in total. I can't seem to find it anywhere.

All the steel plates are fine but one on the engine side has a worn grove from the judder spring washer.

My mate that races grass track cars told me to take these spring washers out and fit full size lining disc in the place of the half one. Says it will grip quicker and harder but that its a matter of getting used to apparently. Before, he used to burn clutches every second race, and they would slip, and now hes got one clutch for a year. Just wonder if anybody done that?

cheers

I'm having almost the identical problem on my 570. The idea of removing the judders springs and the first friction disk (the half one as you put it), and putting in another friction disk is an interesting idea. It might work? However, I wonder if the stack height would end up being wrong? That "half one" seems to be slightly smaller in diameter, but it's actually .5mm thicker than the other friction disks..... So????

Recently I put a Revloc auto clutch in and that helped the problem a bunch. Possible because it comes with 4 new, different looking (smooth, not with the stock "dots") steels, and the Dyna Ring itself has new friction surfaces. You also remove the judder springs during instalation.

Now all I have to do is figure out what I did to make my clutch not work and I'll be in business. :wall:

spoken to the dealer - Midwest Racing.
New lining discs should be 2.7mm, half lining disc 3mm. My plates were all 2.69-2.7mm , one was 2.66, and half one was 2.97, so perfectly OK.

Interesting thing he said was that all their Husaberg racing bikes run without judder spring ,and standard disc instead half one.
Also added that their boys do not go through clutches at all.

So I ordered one standard linig disc and new steel plate for the one that got worn. I will put it together this week and see.

So, I did few hours after the mod - clutch is not slipping during setting off! That is the main bit.
It has more grip, and grips faster - sets off the blocks like a rocket - perfect for hare and hounds and mx. I have to say that after getting used to it I like it a lot more now. You have to be more precise as little movement of the lever engages the clutch fast, but I find it much easier to operate standing up now and in tight spots.

Although on the road at high speeds, if I change gears fast and open the throttle quickly it has slipped a couple of times. Happens much less than before but it does. Seems that if a give it fraction of a second delay before opening the throttle then its fine. It does not really bother me that much and does not affect my riding but its there at the back of my mind.
