Hello all.

I'm loving my 450 it's just such a joy to ride. I just feel it's to quite. Needs to be louder.
I'm trying to find a decient aftermarket silencer for it.
I like the look of the FMF but can't find a road legal one, the Akaropovic looks nice but difficult to track one down.
In your opinions what cans do you have or what wound you recommend??

Cheers

Have you thought about opening up your factory can and cutting out most of the "S" bend?
Worked for me.
Cheers

You mean the "S" bend on the restrictive muffler?

I thought about it to do, but feared about the "metal can" sound. How does it sound?

The "S" bend that's inside #6 of your picture.
The bottom of the "S" is spot welded to #6 to hold it all together. I ground the weld off to get into it, then ground the pipe down leaving about 10mm of tube (just so I had something to weld to and hold it all together again). I did this for about the first 1/3 of the pipe so that it now is more of a 90degree bend.
I think it sounds good, certainly meatier than stock, not "metal can" or tinny. But not too loud, it's just right for me.
There was no mesh on the tip of my exhaust when I got it, and I didn't fit any. I believe ? that the mesh is installed from stock.

Many thanks for the mod details, that's what I was thinking of to do. But I've just scored a used FMF 4.1 slip-on for almost nothing, so I will keep the OEM as stock for now.
