I was out riding earlier with my friends, after servicing my berg, when I climbed a tree stump fell in to the earth hitting my head light when my bike cut out?
so I lifted the bike and noticed the clocks and orange light flickered on and off, while it was off the bike just wouldn’t start, then all of a sudden the orange light and the clock flicked and came on and the bike fired into life. For 10 seconds and cut out again I eventually pushed the bike to a level part of the terrain and it fired into life for about 2 minutes nearly killing me when I only just made a tricky climb.

So we thought that it might be a loose wire and started messing around with the wires at the back of the headlight which had the lights flickering once, but couldn’t really see any loose wire to really point at???????

Then we checked all connections and fuses under the seat no problem then unplugged the fitting to the fuel pump the refitted it, then the bike started not immediately, I managed to make it about 2 miles before it died again.......I waited 5 minutes and it fired into life, and this time ran for about 5 miles 5oo yards from my home, and hasn’t started since and ive not touched it........I may be a little paranoid but it feels like it's turning over a little easy but the orange light is still off!!
the bike has been serviced like crazy the valves hadn’t moved at 77 hours its now at 100 the motor sounded like an angel before this.........this is an awesome machine please help guys

Sounds electrical to me.

The headlight area is a good place to start because of the symptoms, but off the top of my head I don't think there is much there critical to the bike running except for wires going to the starter and kill switch. So the light and the speedo flashing on and off are probably a symptom and not a cause - I would keep that in mind.

Sorry I couldn't help more.

Now it won't fire at all but the f1 orange light isn't coming on ???
If I hold the throttle wide open I can't smell any fuel yet its turning over??

Did you try pressing the engine kill button before trying to restart it?

Yes I even disconnected it , why's the orange light not coming on when it's turning over?

This happened to me as well when I wired up a dualsport kit, my wiring got snagged on the stabilizer mount and frayed the wires, blowing the fuel pump fuse.. I checked the #2 fuse and looked ok, but after checking again very close, sure enough it was blown.. Double check the fuses....

I've taken the tank off and the plug out I have no spark but I can here a noise near the coil that sounds like arking, so I turned the light off and looked for a blue spark but couldn't see one?

There are these new fuses with an LED in them that turn on the LED when the fuse blows. Way overpriced.

It's beginning to look like I've broken a wire near the coil I've messed about with the loom and it started to come back to life.....fingers crossed I will figure it out :)

Check all of the connectors and wiring that are bolted below the dash (upper triple clamp) I shorted or of the wires to the stock lighting wires with a Scotts damper mount.
