Hey Guys,
Guess this is my first post but loving my Berg!!! Riding in Colorado a few weeks ago and sounded like 1st gear was shearing. I immediately took it back to camp. I was having some clutch issues (not bled properly) and think that played a role. As clutch released and gear engaged, horrible grinding sound. I think its only in 1st. I did ride it afterwards and other gears seem to be ok. Wondering if anyone has experienced this or any similar? I have searched forums, etc. Is this something easy to dive into or should I take it to my mechanic? I have rebuilt many 2 strokes and have done moderate motorcycle repairs. I haven't gone into many 4 strokes besides checking valves. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Adam

p.s. Any other berg riders in western North Carolina?

friend of mine had the clutch needle bearings collapse from wear, very strange issue so it might be just the clutch but of course: if you keep riding it you WILL phuq the box as well!

regards

Taffy

Yes check it out. But don't be surprised if you don't find anything. My 550 squealed on and off for years. Same situation as you describe. horrible sound. I put it down to disk vibration. No further damage to report. Try changing the oil you use.

Hey Guys, back from vacation and will try draining the oil and some more inspection tomorrow. I have been using motorex cross power 4t. Its probably about time to change anyways. I have been riding on the pavement some and wonder if that torque'd it a little too much with the clutch issue. Will report back in a day or two. Thanks for the advice so far.
