Anyone who knows if this update is for keeping oil or water in and if it can be used with older models (2004 in my case)?

Thanks
Marcus

pm OrangeBerg for a proper fix. You'd have it in a week or two and it fixes it properly, Used a s a warranty fix by Ber Oz downunder.

I thought this fix was for making sure water would not escape, my problem is oil comming out. Or maybe it's fixes both?

BTW, after my last ride I added 1dl oil and today it leaked a little (very little) after the first 2km's. After wiping it off there were no more leaks during the next 1,5h ride. Might be that it's just happening if it's too much oil and/or too high preassure? Thought I had got the o-ring wrong while checking the primary gear some weeks ago but in that case then maybe it should leak more often?

The fix removes the outer bearing and replaces it with a smaller one on machined carrier and a conventional oil seal that removes the dependance on the bearing seal to retain oil in the cases. Being thinner there is anough room for a proper seal. Replace wp seal with one of your choice.

Works a treat.

your description i can follow and i look forwad to someone taking a photo sometime. is it a job that can be backdated?

Does this mean that the fix is installed by simply reomving the waterpump cover and installing a new carrier ie the o-ring is left "as is" behind the transmission cover?

The entire clutch cover has to come off, as the bearing and seal are installed in it. Its not a big job, just one that needs to be done with care and the right tools to press the new bearing and carrier into place to make sure its all square.

Its installed in my 07, and I assume is suitable for all motors with the wp on the cases, but others can perhaps confirm that. As I said, pm OrangeBerg for details.
