I have a chronic 08 countershaft seal leak, changed it twice. My front sprocket wobbles it seems not to be wide enough to hold the o-ring flush inside the spacer..

whats the deal . Is the front sprocket suppose to be a tight fit or what.. Anyone elses 08 loose/ leaky ???

bought the bike new CS and waterpump leaks since day 1 .. any fixes??

Source an o ring that is the same diameter overall, but a bit thicker to take up some of that "slack".

try and get an OEM sprocket to compare it too. it's no good us explaining everything here but do look at a very recent thread about "16T" sprockets. dimensions are mentioned.

basically the sprocket has to crush the spacer back into the engine. inside that is a rubber 'O' ring which i trust you still have?

after that all you need is a good seal and that should last the lifetime of the bike.

I had a similar problem with my 07 650. The new spacer design was too loose. Sutto swapped it for a second hand older style 'solid' spacer he had lying around and problem solved.

WP fix from OrangeBerg is the way to go IMHO as it solves the problem once and for all.

I had the same problem with mine after my rebuild, to much end float, so with one of the old stop discs from the shaft I skimmed it down and shimmed it between the sprocket and the spacer solved the problem.
Not enough pressure pushing up against the O ring.

Regarding your leak is it water or oil?.

Sparks.
