hey guys, i just got my bike a couple weeks ago and it's been raining a lot here so i haven't got much ride time in. the guy i got it from raced it so he gave me a bin of bits and goodies with it including a second set of plastics so i'm wondering what you guys think is better.
Option A - black plastics.

or
Option B - blue plastics (i don't have a blue headlight plastic. )

I just adjusted my valves, they were super tight so i loosened them off to spec. now my e-start doesn't want to turn the bike over. fires right up when i use the kick starter though.
I'm having issues with my speedometer (noticed someone else has some issues with his fe550 earlier today, gonna hopefully get answers for mine from his thread. if not i'll be ordering a trail tech vapor speedo)

where do you guys get parts for these bikes? there are a few KTM dealers around, i notice a lot of the oem part numbers match over, i'd like to know which ktm is the most similar to my fs550e, does anyone know?

I like the blue but with a blue FS front fender. Maybe add some white decals on the fender and tail to balance it out? Either color looks sharp with the white frame.

Will the starter turn the engine over with the decompression lever pulled? And have you checked the leads to make sure they are tight and not corroded?

What instrument issues are you having?

i re-adjusted the valves again and it fires up fine now, i didn't really know what i was doing when i did it the first time so i had my roommate help me out the second time and it is much better now.

I am considering getting some different decals for it, i took off the guys race numbers and stuff, all the front decals are custom made with his sponsorship stuff on them which i'd like to get rid of. I have an SM front fender, but it doesn't have the rad guard part, it's weird. acerbis i think, brand new in the package haha.

the speedo doesn't work, i think it's a few things, the battery doesn't seem to hold a charge so i'm going to replace that anyways, after a longer ride the speedo will turn on and when i rev the engine the speed will register almost as if it's reading RPM. I think it's just a voltage error though. I'm also missing the correct magnet for the brake disc.

Definately the black plastics..

Get at trailtech Vapor speedo, it got one, at I it's really great, that'll give you shiftlight, water temperature, RPM, and all kinds of read-outs and warnings - and a new magnet ;-) .... And it's easy to install...

HI

Zaga my friend,
if you're after something to brighten up your ride, you could do worse than to talk with Crispy. His work is truly excellent, he'll design anything you have in mind, and probably more besides if you give him a chance. I've first hand experience of the quality, and I cannot recommend him enough. He may need to borrow a set of plastics unless he's done a Husaberg of similar age to yours before.

His website is available here: http://crispydesigns.co.uk/

How's the weather down your way? Stinking hot here!! Thank the lords for A/C...

Cheers... Paul

Paul my friend, good to ear from you

Is your engine ready ?

Thanks for the advice, I didn't knew Crispy made decals, as you know your word is good enough for me, I will send him a mail.

This summer its been very weak, but I think it will be hotter now.

ZAGA
