Hey guys,

So I recently purchased a 'berg off a family friend and haven't even been able to go for a ride yet

Basically the intake boot was cracked, And when he took it in they didn't use a genuine boot to replace it, Just a standard hose and 2 hose clamps

Now, I was just wondering how the genuine intake boot is mounted, Is it really a circle rubber pipe with a large hose clamp on each side? I looked in the book and it looks like the hose isn't fully round and it looks like it is screwed on not hose clamped on

its a molded rubber part held by 2 hose clamps

they seem flimsy at first but they work, don't over tighten them

you can match port the carb and the head spigots to the rubber boot as they don't align perfectly

Hmmm, Do you know the part no. ?

I thought it was: Intake Funnel FCR/FCR-MX 02
59031040200

But apparently that has 2 screws in it, But what I have does not.

Also,
How do you remove the intake boot?

Do you need to remove the carburettor and in what order do you do that?

the one between the carb and engine is 80036044000

clamps 59030061000

to replace these bits you don't need to remove the carb

the part you mention "Intake Funnel FCR/FCR-MX 02
59031040200"

is on the other side (air box) of the carb

Thanks for that, I tried to remove the old one without moving the carb but it seems really really tight...

To take it off You need to take out the exhaust, battery and starter motor if you have them.
here You have a pic (it is for 650 but look the same):
