Hello all

I sure love this bike, it is just awsome in every way!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there sethro,

You don't need to do it so often after the initial adjustment, but it is advised that you play by the rules on that first one, as the engine settles in. After the initial adjustment, member opinion seems to be that you can go a lot longer than advised on subsequent adjustments.

thanks,

For a reference point, mine required slight adjustment (they were tight) on the intakes only at around 10 hours. I am now approaching 70 hours. I have re-checked them twice and they have required absolutely no adjustment. The exhaust valves have not yet been touched. Very pleased with this compared to the KTM valves, which require near-constant adjustment.

I had mine done at 75hrs last night and no adjustment needed either. Pretty pleased with that but i do use valve guard as well.

i've been checking mine every 30 hrs or so. they always seem to require a very slight adjustment, but then i'm lazy so i've been doing the 1/8 turn trick, and i ride moderately hard. now that i think about it, it was more like 40-50 hrs between the last checks. up to 110 hrs or so in 8 months. woohoo.

70 hours on mine and I've adjusted the intakes once (at 20 hours..slightly tight) and the exhaust once (about 50 hours...just barely too tight.) From where I'm sitting, that's good. Of course I'm riding the girlie 450. :D
