BB

have fun this weekend and have you thought about Fastway footpegs the will drop you half an inch. Tall guys on KTMs love them and since they are the same peg, they might work for you if you need more room.

Re: 06FE450e First Big ride Report w/Photos Jedi Bike in Fli

yeah i could use those thanks, the work on our bergs?

Re: 06FE450e First Big ride Report w/Photos Jedi Bike in Fli

They should, order ones for KTM if they don't list berg.

Re: 06FE450e First Big ride Report w/Photos Jedi Bike in Fli

rode my bike again tonight up and down my dirt alley out back. Really like it. I feel like I'm with a motorcycle company that cares. Putting those handguards on the way they lined up, the nice two positions for mounting the bars more forward, just the whole experience. You would never get that feeling with a jap bike, those bikes make you feel like you're just a small unit in the coporate sales monolith, no adjustments can be made to their bikes, hard to get to stuff, no wonder aftermarket companies sell so much to those bike owners. Everyone wants to persoanlize their hondas, not me my bike comes with Husaberg on the tank and more important Husaberg passion in the design....I can tell, no BS here I mean I can feel it, feel the passion in creating this motorcycle. Cool huh!

My bike is ready to ride , impresses me , the ride position is so neutral so right wher it should be. the husaberg ride has always been tallked about now I know, now I know.

bigbob,

If you're really quite while in the garage at night, you can sometimes hear the sound of the first Husaberg engine roaring to life....when this happens, you will know you have been fully enveloped by the Berg. I also think it's pretty cool that you own the TE510, what the first Husaberg engine was modeled after. Anyways, sounds like you are really enjoying the bike.

Regards,

Hi BB,

It's great to see that you are so enamoured with your Husaberg!! The bikes are totally awesome. Makes you realize how much the main stream dirt bike press is biased. Except for Cycle News, and Dirt Rider IMHO.

I see that you live in Folsom, I spent a lot of my time growing up in Placerville, just up the road from you. In fact, I spent a semester at El Dorado high when I was a junior in High School, and Markham Junior High School as well.

Years ago, in 83, my friend and I went on a three day organized ride with a guy named Dave Chase. The ride began in Forest Hill, home of the infamous Danny "MAGOO" Chandler and wound up through the hills to I can't remember where. Second day was riding on the Nevada side with the late Jesse Goldberg, and the third day started on the Tahoe side and we rode over the Rubicon trail to Georgetown. It was a great time, wish that someone was still putting on a ride like that. Do you know if they are??

I'm planning on coming up that way in the next couple of months to see my Aunt who lives in Diamond Springs, and was wondering if you would consider getting together for a day of riding in the area?

Congrats on your new 450, I'm glad that you like it so much.

P.S. Try wiping Mop & Glo floor wax on your Husaberg after washing. And I mean everywhere, under the fenders, the shock guard plastic, and frame rails. It will hide all the small scratches and keep it looking new. My friends in our club always comment how good my bike looks when I show up at the races. It also makes the bikes easier to clean up after riding. It also comes off with any typical bike wash, just remember not to shake the bottle before you use it or you'll get bubbles in it and it won't look good. After you've washed your bike, just squeeze it out on a cloth rag and wipe it down.

Re: 06FE450e First Big ride Report w/Photos Jedi Bike in Fli

thanks dale, rode about 30 miles at georgetown today. Rode in the afternoon after we had spent the morning doing some volunteer trail maintenance with the rangers.

WOW, two more friends tried the Fe450 today..they were quite impressed. me, I am in shock. It's so LIGHT, fast too. I've only been riding 2.2 years. I ride every weekend. I read Gary Semics riding techniques book and watched his DVD's when I started. I tell you with the Berg I now have to learn about scrubbing off speed. I now have to worry about the trees. I'm much faster in the single track woods on the light berg then I am on the Te-510.....I almost smacked into some trees something I never do. I was building up this speed like a ghost in the woods and bam if I don't scrub that speed down before the corners, you can blow right into a tree.

far out!

Yeah get a hold of me when you come up. send me a PM, we'll go riding. Yes guys are putting together big rides like what you talked about. We all do alot fo ride planning on thumpertalk.com I was able to go on a major dual sport from foresthill to Boomtown and back one weekend.. My TE-510 is dual sported, Knowing How much better the berg is in the trees now I can change out my the sprockets on the husky, make it taller , use it more in the deserts of nevada and clear creek, use the bERG in the local woods.

Don't know if you know this or not but......

You can still get your 450 plated if you want, Joe Racer (I think) has the answer. The only catch is you have to have the pink to do it. If you're interested let me know and I'll explain.
