has anyone measured the actual capacity of an 06 tank spec says 9L
=2.38Gallons a person told me the tank actually holds 11L=2.91Gallons
what is the truth
Thanks VIKING

I thought Fryguy had said a while back in another thread that the tank was indeed 11L. PM him to verify.

I have a new 06 tank in the garage. I can try to remember to measure it the next time I go there. Will post here as soon as possible.

Perhaps some confusion going on with US gallons ??

eg. 9L = 2.38 US Gallons. Or 1.98 gallons in Australia, Britian etc.

So if I was told a Husaberg tank held 2.37 gallons, I would use .220 as the conversion factor ( as I am Australian) to litres, giving me 10.77 litres.

Where as my American friends would use .264 as the conversion factor

Big difference between US Gallon (3.8L) and Imperial gallon (4.54L)

My guess is this is where the 11 litre capacity may have originated??

Or perhaps they really are ?? :) Only one way to find out.

This reminds me of the old saying regarding when the brits will join the metric system. "We are getting there, inch by inch".

When/where did it go wrong in the size of gallons/miles and so on??

i know that 1 pint is 1 pound in weight in the UK. so two gallons of fuel is 16 pounds and 16 pints. easy!

how the yanks changed that - :? :?

hi guys
perhaps you are referring to imperial gallon approx.4.5L which is more than a US gallon 3.78L hopefully this makes measuring thing clear
on a side note at the last enduro race in sweden joakim Ljungrens bike had 05 tank and schrouds on the other races his bike had the aluminum tank and if he was running his practice bike would that be an 06 bike Hmmmm???
so long VIKING
