So last month I posted a distressed message about my brand new bike W/1,400 miles of nice lazy miles on it and perfect maint blowing up .I thought that the engin Had blown up acording to the [so called] Berg dealer I bought it from.It turn's out that A nut came loos and took out a coupple of valves and my crank. Not cool but not the catastrofic damage the{so called] dealer was trying to say and not 6.000 dollars to fix that the warenty company would have to pay.So today I loaded up my bike and drove from Seattle to Portland and discovered that The BEST part about owning a HUSABERG is you get a guy called BOSS to make all of your problems go away .I have never had some one impress me so much in a coupple of houres.I have learned more today about my bike than in the five years I have been A BERG owner. This guy is the BEST bike tech and the nicest guy I have ever done buisness with. There has been more acomplished in an hour on my bike by the BOSS than in the three and a half WEEK's it sat at the otherplace.Through all of my whineing and crying Bob @ Husaberg has been awsome and any fear's I had about the problem are gone GO HUSABERG

Good to hear you have it all sorted out :)

But if damaged valves and crank dont constitute a blow up, just how do we define one ??, does something have to physically exit the engine cases?

How did your piston/liner get off scot free if you have valve and crank damage? :?

Sounds like a valve lash adjuster jam nut came loose. That can get ugly for sure. Also probably not the bike's fault, I'd have some questions for the last person who adjusted your valves.

via the first opinion I had the entire motor had come apart inside and taken all of the gears the cases rod crank head etc. After actually getting to look at it my self as well as with some one that isn't afraid to open a motor and fix it The only reason I need a crank is because the original dealer screwed up and didn't do the Technical service bulletin that said to torque the crank bolt to 90fpt before giving bike to customer. The cylinder is perfect no case damage and valves and a crank are replaceable. So to me weather or not the warranty claim is denied I can still get my bike back rather than having a 10.000 dollar paper weight.

"Technical service bulletin said to torque the crank bolt to 90 ftlbs before giving the bike to the customer"

Is this an 06 problem only? Are there any bulletins that apply to an 07?

Neil_E. The tech bulletin was for only 05 models.

Puckerfactor & anyone who choose to use there fe models on the tarmac

would be advised to use a cush drive hub & also keep an eye on the balancer

& primary nut's.

Great news on the bike. This weekend I'm taking off to ride the TransAmerica Trail. I'll wind up in Portland so that I can fly home from there, and I'm going to try to carve out a bit of time to swing by and meet the guy who takes care of all my parts needs. :)

Hey Pucker, I have to ask, as I am thinking of replacing my Husky with a 'berg, and am here in the Puget Sound, which dealership did you have problems with? If you are reluctant to mention any names can you tell me what city or street address to avoid? I think I can guess, but...

Oh, I got that part...I just wanted to root about in all the gore for a cheap thrill.
That and I wanted to make sure it wasn't the guys down the street.
