This looks like a good spot for Husaberg information

I'll be looking through the threads for resources and advice as I go forward with this bike

At 95 hours it's going well, runs strong, and it's a hoot to ride

Absolutely the BEST spot for info- that bike looks great! 95 hours, if it's as good as it looks, is just run in. Enjoy the ride!!

Thanks

It’s definitely a nice looking bike
I got it used, locally

The bike had given them troubles following a tip over in the workshop while the bike was running, idling to warm the oil before an oil change
The left side cover and clutch assembly were damaged and some metal from the fragged parts ended up in the oil system

A subsequent series of ‘flushing’ oil changes (numerous consecutive oil changes) yielded metal fines so they kept at the flush until it ran clear
They’d experienced two seizure-like events that in retrospect appear to have been from apparently bits of frag on gears keeping the motor from starting
Ran fine, sounded fine, but upon subsequent startup at first the engine wouldn’t turn, only later to turn and start and run fine

I’ve run it, changed the oil to find great looking oil, no offending bits on the screen, and super minimal (as normal or better relative to other engines) fuzz on the oil plug magnet

My rides on the bike have been pretty rowdy and I haven’t sensed any problems at all, fantastic power and no hiccups or hesitation, easy start cold or hot - great running bike in all respects

It had been running great for the previous owner for fifteen or so hours since the last episode from their initial problem

All was disclosed, and after all I chose to adopt the bike with all it’s story with the sense that the problem is in the past
Appears so

I’ve seized engines before, all of them stayed that way as a result - the last one was a KTM 640, before that numerous two-strokes
This one turns free, has great compression, no bad sounds or habits, and runs cool

I think it’s going to be fine - and I’m keeping a service log so that I can track everything going forward

I just hope there’ll be service parts for it when it’s time for an engine service

Hey Zebra, I almost got that bike, you were a day or two ahead of me, I am glad it turned out to be a good ride, Taffmeisters is a great shop for parts and knowledge, Ebay is the other option for used parts. Have fun.

So far it’s great

I had seen it on the local listing before - the description was honest and complete, kept coming back to view it then the listing went away

Saw it again on an early weekend morning and figured it was go time
I was out to town for it before anyone at home had gotten out of bed

Previous owner is a great fellow
He detailed the full history while I was there
No regrets here at all
