Hi all,
saw the 06 berg at the local bike show. Ok noted the tank and frame colour changes (so ktm colour used on frame and seat). They only had one 06, the rest were 05. The thing I was looking for was the new shock and forks, although the new tank allows spark plug and knee access it is no big deal.
The shock looked the same as the 05 as did the fork. Same look including decals. The ktms had shocks and forks that looked different.
I think the shock is the most important change, but how do I know the australian bikes are real 06 after they put new plastic on the 02 here and called them 03!!
Can anyone tell me how you can tell an 06 shock from an 05, there must be a stamp on them somewhere?
The official web site says all seat covers are dark blue, this bike had a black seat cover?
The 06 berg I saw had the old headlight with a different colour and the old number plate bracket where ktms had new stuff.
Have been riding bergs since 91. I know the motor has some good design and battery low and centred. They are meant to be lighter as well (are they). I must say that the ktms looked very good. The 450 looked better than last year, clean, small, fresh. The ktm 200 two stroke looked good as well. The suzuki 450 mx looked good and when they get an enduro version it would be good.
So how can you tell a real 06 berg from and 05, and the only significant difference appears to be the new suspension if you get it?
Any comments.
