05 FS650E handlebar diameter?

OK I'm buying parts for a bike not in my possession yet...
I need hand guards so is the stock handle bar 7/8" (22.2mm) or 1-1/8" (28.6mm)?

I'm new to bergs and had the same question about an '04 fe650. I looked in the free download parts manual and it says the fe is a 28mm. You may want to download and check. Wish I had more info.

On my 04 the bars look around the 28mm at the clamp area.Magura sx was the brand of bars on it.
They are a tapped bar, I think when i put hand guards on it, I had to file and fit the hand guard clamps a bit. There are many different types on the market now, so maybe most of them fit a bit better now.
