Hello guys having a issue with my starter it will crank the motor one or two turns then it just spins freely. I have already tried to jump the starter direct to the battery same out come. What I'm looking for is a new starter and if they cross reference to anything ktm because I can usually get those parts locally. thank you guys for any help

There is a 99% chance it is not the starter. Probably the torque limiter.
Have you read through "the doc"? Although it mainly pertains to 01-03 bikes, you should be able to gain some valuable insight.

That sounds exactly like whats going on the now to try and find out how to fix it the search on here is a little hard to use
can I remove the side cover while on the bike or will the motor need to be pulled? What all needs to be pulled off the motor and what will need to be replaced while putting it back together gaskets,ect?

I know BOSS has all the gaskets/seals in stock as of last week.
I think taffy (taffmeisters) has a repair kit for the limiter.
