This bike so far has been as reliable as a claw hammer, great fun to ride does everything right. Its one of my favorite bikes.
But now with about 80 hours on the clock i was wondering if there is anything i should be looking out for, ie main bearings, cam chain etc.
It is rarely rev ed hard, as there is no real point, and i ride mainly in the tight stuff.

Yeah my Fe450 was at 140 hr and going strong. We were gonna do the top side/ cam chain replacement service? (I forget the details) at 150 hrs, something the manual calls for at 100 hrs if you race the bike, but a simliar riden 550 was done locally at 120 hours and after opening up the bike they found the repair was not yet needed per Dan at the shop.

So definitely yes at 80 hours, just change the oil and ride mo!

regarding the main bearing failures we've heard about downunder on the big bikes, we have not heard of any NorCAl bergs doing that yet....wasn't there a post about not lugging the big bikes too much? I can see how lugging the Fe550 would be easy to fall habit into as the wide ratio tranny really allows you to lug that bike. You couldn't really lug the Fe450e, it would just sign off the popwer down low and you have to shift down.
