Hi All.

Has anyone tried Dales kit on a 450? Any one down under? I see lots of references to the 550 & 650s but nothing on the little fella, except for your bike Taffy.
We use 98 RON fuel and I am lucky to ever get above 1000M so is Dales kit the way to go?
Thanks

Blunny

ahem!

get on with it 8O 8O 8O

it'll work fine. nothing to do with;

fuel
cc
continent
climate (well maybe a little)
altitude (ok just a tadge)
riding area
model
year
colour scheme

infact when you get the kit, rejet it to my specs in the doc. as strange as it sounds, dale did a brilliant job with the needle but his bikes are made for the track and his low speed jetting is set rich.

Jetting etc

Yes thanks Taffy. I thought I would get a clip 'round the ears from you. Its just that I have read every page of the fuel section, and am still confused. Some of the owners are getting the kits and still need to make a heap of changes.
I simply dont have the time to chase the best jetting.
I will buy a kit, book the shop / dyno & we shall see.
This bike is for playing with as it was cheap so it will be interesting as the 06 I had felt so sweet (till it smashed my arm for riding it like a rag doll), so I want the 04 to be nice.

RE: Jetting etc

i've now modified the doc to show somelineaweaver needle settings.

Taffy,

so where it says
settings FCR
and then:

Also, below are Lineaweaver needle settings. This is a bespoke needle that is the best of the 'D' and 'E' series needles

* 150MJ with std/ FX/FC pipe.

* Needle clip 3/4 with 35PJ/45PAJ.

* Reduce pump squirt to .028" or .75 second.

* PS 1 - 1.5 turns

thats with a 200MAJ ?

just curious

BTW your above post re colour scheme is BS, an ohlins sticker gives +10Hp :twisted:

RE: Jetting etc

i make the jetting up as i go but don't tell anyone. everyone thinks that you need the cc, year, temp, is the fuel fresh etc etc. but i did run this jetting - honest!

the MAJ can be viewed a sa strand-alone modification and so it's easy to keep it deperate.

I like a 155 or 160MAj with the 150main depending on clip position but don't tell anyone either :wink:
