My pal has converted to a 2004 450 fe with 30 hrs use. The engine sounds completely different to my 05 550 fe. When it revs it whistles like a washing machine the noise sounds the same as the noise a jeep or 4x4 makes when they have a viscous fan fitted and they are revved hard. This noise is not that much of a problem as ive heard a couple of 450 bergs do this but i was wondering what it could be as my bike sounds nothing like it........tight water pump bearing i thought any ideas would be appreciated.
The main problem with this bike is the noise it makes when starting it clunks badly when the electric start cranks but goes off when the engine is running the clunking is also evident but not as bad when its started using the kick. it is in my opinion something to do with the sprag clutch ive seen similar problems with ducati road bikes but again any info on which parts fail in berg sprag clutches more frequently would be appreciated...............
