Hi guys need some help with my husaberg fs 650 2003 model
I bought this bike not to long ago and it came with all the road gear removed
I have refitted all the road gear including the starter motor

when I press the electric start button you can hear the starter motor engaging
But doesn't turn the engine over then a second or so later you can hear the engine try to turn over really slow then nothing just the starter motor wine again then same thing engine turns over really slow again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Cheers carl legend I love my bed but the old girl is high maintenance

It may take a bit of work to get it running how you want it but we'll worth it when you do.

Enjoy.

How do I go about replacing the Sprague bearing does any one
Know how or were I buy one from thanks

Hi Thor,

you need to take the clutch off to get access to the sprague bearing, not a difficult job. Just read up on it in the How To's in the owners Docs. and don't hit anything too hard.

For suppliers check out http://husaberg.org/users/bushmechanic/ signature.

typical isn't it:
Taffy's doc but Bushie's list of parts. you have to love the members here. none of the people in that list will "look after" you! DCR throws the starter gears away for christ's sake!

others don't know one end of the old one's apart from a lawnmower engine.

the stupidity of people who would recommend the WRONG PEOPLE never ceases to amaze me. you's think they'd say nothing wouldn't you?

better to say the wrong thing, lead people in the wrong direction than do the right thing I guess.

and self praise is no praise either so....

Taffy

in my experience the wrong place to buy parts from is taffys garden shed

there are plenty of comments from others to the same effect

i buy parts from the people in my signature

here it is in double.

just confirmed what I said. none of those people will help a customer with starting issues.

your name isn't in the doc because you don't deserve a place there. being a sicko isn't a recommendation.

avoid the above delusions and support the guy that keeps Husabergs going.

We know you will come and hawk your stuff here. We let you take care of that. And then we post up links to other sources so people have a choice.

I don't see the reason why we too should put in free advertising for you? Or indeed what appetite we should have for it?

Some people will like your style and do business with you - And some will not.

Then I'm quite sure the other vendors will take care of starting issues. Can't hurt getting a second opinion? And indeed, who trusts a doctor who gets angry at the mention of a second opinion?

Now a cup of something clean and caffeine free and let Thor44 have his thread in peace.

far too subtle for this site. clearly shows a degree of intelligence and is to be feared.

"hawking" was a bit unfair. but it needs a scalpel and not a hatchet to define the truth. won't find that in Perth. probably machette man.

FWIW:

Here we go again?????????????????????????????????????????????
Just because someone does not shop at a specfic store and/or support a business of one who gives advise, does not mean they are stupid and/or have lack of knowledge????????
It's like a spoiled brat who cant get there way. "If you read my "DOC" then you MUST take my advise and shop at my store"
If you didn't want to share your knowledge in the "DOC" then why did you draw it up and share it. Was it for personal gain?? Yes the question once again lol? Personal gain and not to help fellow users out LMFAO

PS, Nothing wrong with Bushie sharing his good shopping experiences with other users and giving users advise on parts and/or other users sharing who they believe in.
Sorry but the reality is, Many people have good advise and as we know, not only one specific person "not naming them" who has a store is not the only wise tech and/or store to shop. Many other stores have great deals and good parts and also give good advise, many other users on this site are just as if not more knowledgeable, thus the reason we all share here as a group, not one person has all the answers but the group can.

Shipping can be costly. If can get here why not but if I can't. I'd buy from Taffy or anyone else.

Thank you very much every one for your help-input lol
Guess I will have a shop around for some parts
Only other thing I cant really understand is the auto decompression
I think this might not be working cause the bike is bloody hard to kick start
I mean bloody hard I am.6 foot 2 and 95 kg and I struggle.to kick the kick start down would this cause the spray bearing to spin if the auto decompression is not.working thanks

the sprague shouldn't be involved at this point? if however someone put the sprague bearing in the wrong way around: it can't freewheel when kickstarting and the starter motor would be running with the engine.

yup, sounds like the ADC isn't functioning.

year of your bike?

Taffy

Its a 2003 fs 650
Bloody hard to get that kick starter to kick over
And when you.press the e start button the starter.moter wines
Over and then you hear the engine turn.over very slowly

it is your decomp.

a genuine 2003 has two oil drains: one for the oil and one is a magnet. you should have the first year of the 08 cam and the correct ADC although Australia get the first batch and there were known to be some bikes using up old parts etc. so at some point you need to check the code on the end of the cam and it'll say either '53' or '08'.

so with the later cam and the right decomp you just need the stronger decomp spring fitted.

you have probably now ripped the guts out of your battery unfortunately.

the other thing is ignition timing. I shall do another facebook video soon of the nuances of getting the ignition timing right on a Husey - especially the 650. so keep an eye out for that.

indeed I have a video up on my facebook page right now indicating what a sh*t the ignition timing is.

you are possibly over advanced.

getting softer DVSK like the ones I sell will help turn the engine. also the starter gears slip so I do a starter repair kit (SRK).

I could go on and on but we have completely solved the starting issues now. due to the trolls like FE350 here ate UHE, he won't see this as helping you, I've just hawked my stuff.

I suggest, if you can cope with me 'hawking all the time, you know, hawking here and hawking there; well PM me and we'll get you there.

regards

Taffy

LOL, I do see this info helping him greatly, but I also see you selling. I also watch you get mad if you give advise and someone shops elsewhere in what is very wrong, as you are on this site to help and nothing more CORRECT?. So any help you give should make you feel warm and fuzzy inside as it does others EVEN IF THE PERSON SHOPS ELSEWHERE. You rant about others who advertise here as if you are the only user allowed to sell ????? Other shops sell and service just as good as you do as you are not the only knowledgeable user. I like it when you give great advise as you do, but when you have fits about users giving different options it makes one think? Is he here to sell parts or help users, what is his motivation? A balance between is good but don't go off when others shop elsewhere. Everyone can make there own choice where to shop.
Have a great day Taffy and keep up the good advise as everyone welcomes that, even those who wouldn't give you the time of day :)
