I have a 03 fe450e.this machine is rumored to be a preproduction unit and is equipped with a FCR carb and SEM ign.It has the hi-low switch and full road legal switch gear.Anyone know how many of these were built?....nsman

Hi,

are you sure it is really a 450? Maybe 470.
With SEM ignition it´s sure that it is a bit older.....than 2004

I have seen 01 and 02 models being sold as 03's so be carefull what to believe.
Doesn't an 03 have the extra magnetic oil plug?

nsman,
not sure if i'm allowed to commnet :)

we had sweden build the bike for TopPimp (Guy Giroux) to race in select GNCC's. The engine, I beleive is a preproduction 04 dropeed into an 03 FE400. As far as I know, its one of a kind from the factory.

by the way, thanks for buying it from us

I will try to get some pictures for you,but I do expect to get it dirty :D

Hi nsman sept of 02 I where in Sweden visiting the factory in Rorfors talking to an engineer I asked how come Husaberg dont have a 450
for 03 his reply was we do have a 450 tested and ready for production but higher authority wanted to deplete the stock of 400 parts that pre production engines had different stroke and larger valves than current 450 and it was running better than any KTM 450 Hmmmmm nsman you might have healthy running 450
Happy trails VIKING

There was a 03 450 berg at my dealers "Top Gear Frankston" I was the head when it was off and there was alot of hand work and obiously a pre production model. Went very well by all accounts.

Cheers Horto
