-03 FE 650: El. start + lights, horn doesn't work

Hey guys!

im Norwegian, and new in here.
just bought myself a 2003 Husaberg FE650 and have got some electrical issues.
the seller told me the only reason the el-start didn't work was because the battery was flat. (oldest trick in the book)

but,
changed the battery.

and the electrical starter didn't work. it didn't move at all. no relay-sound or whatsoever.
neither does any of my lights work with the bike shut off but with the key in position 1.

are there any fuses im not finding? does anyone know what this is?
im guessing the lights should work with the ignition key in position 1? or else there would not be any need for a battery.

Hope to get a quick and a good answer:)

On my 01, lights do not work until the engine is running. There is a light switch on the left side of the handlebars.

Hi and welcome

About the lights it depends on your wiring but the lights are like that, only with the engine running, but if you want its easy to change. I'm not completly shure because I've redone all my wiring but I think I'm correct.

About your starter, yes you should have one fuse, and after you check that, you should check if you starter relay works.

I think in 03 the starter relay has the fuse, go and check it.

Do you have one multimeter ?

ok! that makes things alot clearer for me.

Yes, i have a multimeter
but where on the bike is the fuse located?
anywhere on the internet i could get the service manual or something like that?

so it's located right under the tank in other words, Okey!
have to get the tank off and see one day then.

Hey again!

found out that my bike is a 2002 model, which wasn't registered before 2003...
anyway. Borrowed a starter motor and a new starter relay for the el-start, but the fuse gets blown as fast as i turn the key around. just as before. in other words, there are some other faults on the el-harness on the bike. nothing wrong with either old elmotor or starter relay.

are there any obvious things that could cause this fuse blow-up? the fuse only blows up when el-motor connected....
i haven't figured out which end of the wiring diagram im gonna look at yet.

Thanks alot for any help on this!
