Hey,

im considering buying a 03 650fe Berg. on this bike the stator is broken and need change.

Ive heard with my local dealer here in Norway, they talked about when the stator is changed the flywheel needed change as well? is this true or is this just recommended? and where to find these stators? The OEM stator is expensive, is there a aftermarket on this? need help! on ebay i cant find exact for this 03 model. any other sites to look at?

thanks in advance.

I had my stator redone by sparks here on the board...did it through taffy. It might be your best option. Mine starts right up now.

you don't need to change flywheel when you change the stator.

But you should make a god check of it, flywheel magnets are used to go appart, adhesive that keep them on flywheel due to heat gets weak...it can be fixed, search forum about this, there was some Loctite (think 332, im not sure) adhesive that was written about.

Hi

You don't need to change the flywheel, specialy because its expensive, but every one should consider it some time. Its not only because the magnets come off, its also because they loose their magnectic power over the years and that will have a contribuition on loosing spark power.
I've eared that there are people that remagnetize them, but I don't know who.
I also think that, if there are still new flywheels, they only sell them with a new stator.

About the stator, there are aftermaket from electrex or hpi, wich I think its the same, but I don't know if thats a good option, never tryed, but I've read that this stator its hard on the cdi and some times it can burn them, I've posted a simple solution for this some time ago, but also never tryed it.

You can also rewind it, wich I think its the safer solution, there are two members that can do this for you, its sparks and kris.

If you need any help just ring.
