02' motor into a 96' frame?

I was wondering if an 02 fe501 motor will bolt into a 96' fc frame? I noticed a motor for sale in the classifieds and that would make my husaberg breath again with less headache.

You would proably have to make some front motor mounts and maybe some other things as well.I don`t know for certain but it could be done.Somebody should know.Best of luck.

waterpump location of the '96 is on the head and on the '02 it is in the sidecover. should just need to get the later hosepipes i should think.

hydraulic versus manual clutch pull?

angle of exhaust headers etc?

i would try and park up next to a 501 and with the owners permission spend a bit of time measuring and looking.

checkout ignition wiring and the carb location and then tell us all how well you did. good luck!

I have seen a 1998 motor in a 2002 frame the owner said it bolted right in he said the bike is much more reliable and made more power.

A post 2000 engine will indeed fit a pre 2001 chassis potentially providing for a cost effective project. :D

Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Dale
