Hi all, I have a issue with my charging system where I'm getting a low voltage on the DC circuit at higher rpm.
I've replaced the original head, tail and indicators with led types. Indicators and head light were on the DC circuit and tail on the AC circuit. I'm pretty sure the issue was there before this was done.
I've looked through the forum and initially thought there was too much load for the reg rectifier, so I replaced it with a 140w two phase reg rectifier. I joined the two yellow phases from the stator to the new reg rectifier and the blue (seperate) to it as well. No luck though. I get 10-12vdc at idle and 6vdc at high rpm (no load)
What doesn't seem right is I get the same low voltage readings on the ac side (measuring at connections) to the reg rectifier from the stator.
But if I disconnect the reg rec and measure from the yellow's to blue I get 13-14vac at idle and 40vac at high rpm.
Im not too sure where to go from here. Any ideas?
